Integration (Final Acceptance) Testing
Once an integrator has completed their development and testing, it is important that a final set of more formal Integration tests be performed. This “Final Acceptance Test (FAT)” is a necessary step for any integrator to complete before being able to onboard production configurations and go-live in a public environment.
The FAT procedure is there to verify that all anticipated scenarios have been catered for by the chosen integration, in support of the required use-cases, including of course all unexpected/unusual/error outcomes and some specific edge case scenarios.
Completion of the FAT provides both parties with confidence that, once deployed in a production and remote/unattended environment, the consumer using the system will always be clear as to the stage of any payment process and it’s associated outcome, whilst also protecting the retailer from any unintended financial loss or over-charging scenarios.
Finally, in addition to the technical FAT testing process itself, the Integration Consultants will also work with customers and partners to properly define a range of associated items in support of a smooth and long-lasting working relationship as part of Go-Live Support, including:
User Interface Design Options
Automated, Semi-Automated and/or manual device configuration parameters
The order, onboarding and activation processes for production implementation
Who to contact for what and when once operating in a live environment.
