Description

In this model, the Payter terminal is instructed to always be scanning, waiting on a card to be presented. The trigger to beginning Driver<>Charge Station interaction is when the card data is read and provided to the EV Charge Controller.

Dependencies

The Charge Controller must ensure the terminal is always scanning.

Step by Step Process

1. The Charge Controller sends the Start command to the terminal, typically immediately after the terminal has finished with the last activity and is otherwise idle

2. Driver presents their EMV/RFID card to the Payter terminal

3. The card data is read and returned to the Charge Controller

4. The Charge Controller decides to authorize or not

5. Payter terminal (EMV) or Charge Controller (other RFID) authorizes the card

6. The Charge Controller checks for vehicle connection and starts automatically upon successful card authorisation and vehicle connection confirmation

7. The Payter terminal UI (optional) or charger UI displays the session start confirmation on screen.
