Getting Started
Getting a Test Terminal
Before undertaking any development, an Integrator will need to Purchase a Test Terminal from Payter. These are terminals which are designed specifically for the Staging Environment, and have some special features:
- They cannot be used to process Live Payments Test and Production systems must remain entirely separated in compliance with PCI requirements.
- They can be configured to approve Test payments locally, or via a test host. We usually recommend the local solution at first
- They can be reconfigured to different solutions and options via Staging MyPayter.
When development is complete, the Test terminal should be retained to allow further development, or testing against new software versions.
Configuring the Test Terminal
Payter will discuss your requirements if they are not clear prior to ordering. It is important however that an Ethernet DHCP connection with unlimited access to Payter's endpoints is available for the terminal to allow remote configuration.
Many of Payter's solutions use Google services. Please check locally to ensure you are permitted to access these services without restrictions.
A full list of Payter endpoints can be supplied upon request.
