Integration Consultation
Payter's team will use the Implementation Consultation to fully understand the solution that the Integrator is intending to develop. The consultation is effectively a Question & Answer session, so should be attended by both technical and commercial team members from the Integrator.
Whilst not mandatory, Payter strongly recommend that any complex projects use our Integration Consultation service.
As a minimum however, Payter expect the following to be known or defined during the Project Definition phase;
- The terminal model(s) to be used have been selected
- The communication or integration method has been decided (Local v Cloud v Other)
- How the terminal will be physically installed has been considered or noted
- The scope of the software integration is understood
- The Merchant(s) of Record are known, and Payment Industry Basics are understood
- The End User Journey is either documented, or understood
- How does a user start a card payment?
- How are they informed of progress and outcomes?
- What happens when payment fails?
- Any key dates or deadlines are discussed
- General regions or territories to deploy the solution to have been agreed
- Where required, a regular contact call or summary has been agreed
Payter experience shows that scheduling regular contact between the Integrator and the Integration Support Team leads to faster and better outcomes.
Weekly is recommended. This meeting can be an email!
This is a common question with a highly variable answer. It simply depends on too many factors for Payter to be definitive. We do know however that it takes less time when a Consultation is used.
