Description​

In this model, the Payter terminal is instructed to always be scanning, waiting on a card to be presented. The trigger to beginning Driver & Charge Station interaction is when the card data is read and provided to the EV Charger Controller.

Dependencies​

The Charger Controller must ensure the terminal is always scanning.

Step by Step Process​

  1. The Charger Controller sends the Start command to the terminal, typically immediately after the terminal has finished with the last activity and is otherwise idle
  2. Driver presents their EMV/RFID card to the Payter terminal
  3. The card data is read and returned to the Charger Controller
  4. The Charger Controller decides to authorize or not
  5. Payter terminal (EMV) or Charger Controller (other RFID) authorizes the card
  6. The Charger Controller checks for vehicle connection and starts automatically upon successful card authorization and vehicle connection confirmation
  7. The Payter terminal UI (optional) or charger UI displays the session start confirmation on screen.
